Description

Blue Mountain is the last remaining active lookout on the Missoula Ranger District of the Lob National Forest. The 41’ wooden tower with 15’ x 15’ flattop cab was originally constructed on Davis Point, where it was used in filming “Red Skies of Montana.” At that time the movie company paid for the modified slanted glass windows to reduce glare. In 1966 it was moved to its present location.
