The first lookout on Coffin Mountain was a platform tower built in 1906 and replaced in 1921 with a D-6 cupola cabin. In 1936 an L-4 cab with catwalk was constructed which was replaced in 1984 with the current 15'x15' R-6 flattop lookout.
