Berry Hill is the second fire tower in New York erected by the the Civilian Conservation Corps, and is owned by the NY Department of Environmental Conservation. The 59'3" International Derrick tower with 7’X7’ cab was built to overlook the thousands of acres of state reforestation lands planted in the ‘30s in the region just west of the Catskill Mountains.
