Located on a State Forest Preserve Tract on the southern edge of the Catskills, Red Hill Fire Tower was constructed by NYS-DEC in 1920 and staffed until 1990. The 60’ Aermotor LS-40 tower with 7x7’ steel cab is equipped with an unusual 1/2” tube alidade.
